Mainsail

The mainsail is the primary sail on a sailboat, set behind the mast on the boom. It provides the majority of a boat's drive upwind and on a reach. Mainsails are typically triangular and adjusted by the mainsheet (controlling the boom angle) and other lines including the outhaul, vang, and cunningham.
